My new book Kilpeck and the Romanesque in Herefordshire is now available
This book contains many paintings,drawings, prints and collages – often sketchbook pages, about the legacy of skilled craftsmen who worked on a particular cluster of medieval churches, the most famous of which is at Kilpeck in Herefordshire.
The sculpture is referred to as The Herefordshire School of Romanesque Sculpture and offers us unique examples of English Romanesque medieval art. The cost is £19.95 plus £2.50 towards p&p
Some of the images are observational drawings and others are a more personal response to the sights and spirit of the sacred places where a group of craftsmen worked at the beginning of the twelfth century. The well researched text was developed from sections of my dissertation submitted whilst studying for a degree in Fine Art at Hereford College of Art.
This book is almost out of print but copies are still available locally from Ledbury Books and Maps in Ledbury and The Hop Pocket at Castle Frome.
